White Pelicans

The white pelicans have returned to my neck of the woods in Wisconsin. As part of my short ride today I took a little side road along Lake Winnebago and saw an entire island of them. Too bad I couldn't get a photo though, because the view came from private property.

I DID stop to grab a picture of this small group of them feeding nearby as I rode out of the area.

They're beautiful birds. Birds you are more likely to see in Florida, not Wisconsin. But they come here for the summer to enjoy the cooler weather I guess.

Ironic, since I'm heading down there in a couple of days. My next time on a bike may very well be on a beach cruiser on Sanibel Island. I very much am looking forward to that and will have to post a picture and ride report here once I get back.

As for today, still more cold wind off the water. At only 62 degrees and with that little cold breeze in the face I was just too chilly to do much more than I did today.
