Sweet Sound

I recognize the sweet sound.

It's that buzzing....

zzzzzzzzzzzzz as you free wheel while actually riding OUTSIDE!

Finally, my first outdoor miles of the new 2022 riding season are on the books.

With an ice and snowstorm in the forecast in about 24 hours from now, this afternoon was very different. This afternoon the sun was out, and rivers of melting snow were rushing into storm sewers all around the neighborhood where I did a few laps today. 48 degrees, but very windy.

I had to dodge a little bit of ice on one turn right on my corner, but other than that there was only one turn with a bit of a pond I had to ride slowly through.

Needless to say, when I finish posting this, I am heading out to wipe down a very sloppy bike. But that's what an old backup road bike is for...this time of sloppy year. I could have done a little more, but my butt was sore from not being used to being in the saddle for an hour, and my legs were already getting tired. That little voice in my head was telling me not to overdo it. So I did not. Felt good to be outside in the wind for the first time in a long time.
