Stir Crazy

It has been a long time.

Too long.

Just the sound of that derailleur buzzing while I was free-wheeling was a welcome thing.

Too long.

Stir crazy indeed.

Something snapped inside me today.

I couldn't take NOT being out on the road on my bike on yet another hot, muggy, sunny summer day. I have been very diligent about resting my injured leg/groin muscle. But I just couldn't take another afternoon of a nap and rest while my bike tires go even flatter as it sits by it's lonely self.

I get the feeling now that I could be off the bike until spring and somehow I still wouldn't be 100% when I got back on. This thing is a real bear. It just will not go away.

There was a pinching pain at the top end of each pedal stroke of my injured left leg. All I did was take it easy and spin for 20 miles in the neighborhood. It felt so right to be back on the bike, but perhaps so wrong at the same time because I'm not sure if I hurt myself or helped myself by doing this. What I DO know is that the feels-like temp of 95 degrees under the sun sure felt good to me!
