Still Chilly

I went for a ride later in the afternoon just because I wanted to get a little exercise and the sun was out. 55 degrees and sun feels pretty good when you are standing in your driveway on April 16th. Heck, three years ago on this date were were still digging out from a 22-inch blizzard! So just to have dry roads and sunshine I guess is a blessing this time of year in NE Wisconsin.

Still, it was cold on the bike, with a nagging little wind off the lake once again.

I was going to stop to take a picture of the water at one point, but I thought I might freeze if I stopped, so I just kept kept pedaling.

I took note today while doing laps on both the neighborhood course and the Lake Loop. I can see water during at least 3/4 of the time while riding each one of these routes.

While it is nice to see and cooling in the summer months, this time of year it really cheats me of warmth.

Yet there in the neighborhood was a guy cutting his grass (what there is of it this early in the season) in shorts and a t-shirt. I don't get it. Again, I believe I live among polar bears. But again, I am simply happy to have gotten some exercise today, chilly or not.

At some point I will have to try making some sort of change to my left foot/cleat/shoe situation. The ball of my foot still starts to get a little sore after about eight miles and my toes want to start numbing up too. I have to work my foot around to keep things in touch....and that is just not right. And it's not like the shoe fits too tight either. That part feels okay. It must have something to do with the cleat position.
