"Real" Bike
Today marked the first time this new season of riding that I took my 'real' road bike out onto the road and not my backup trainer bike.
From the old Klein to the old Specialized. They are both great old bikes. The Klein is like a Caddy and the Specialized is like a Corvette.
The Klein is a more-relaxed geometry than the Specialized, heavier, and the saddle is not as good, at least in my opinion.
A bit chilly since I am riding along the shores of Lake Winnebago, which is still an ice cube. Luckily there was not much wind at all today so 51 degrees with sunshine felt just fine.
I was tired by the final lap. I have to ease into riding season, and each year things hurt a little more. Nagging injuries that no longer just go away with rest continue to plague me. I have learned to just deal with it and enjoy an easy pace out there, happy with simply being outside on a bike and able to get some exercise at this point.
I did venture out just a little bit by doing a lap out to Conservancy Park. Then it was a few laps around the neighborhood to round it up to a 15-mile jaunt. I'll take it.
