I Did It

I had set a goal earlier this bizarre year of 2020 before things got all pandemic crazy;

Ride my bike outside in every month of the calendar year.

Today I completed that goal.

After almost a month off the bike, I loaded up on layers and headed out into the cold. At least the sun was out. But it was cold. The only real riding stat that matters in this, what may be the final ride of 2020, is the temperature. 37 degrees with a 10-15 mph wind. And of course the wind was in my face every lap I did when going up the one little climb on the route.

Just 11 miles today. That was plenty.

I stopped along the way to commemorate the season and occasion with this pretty cool picture...

The fact that the route is pretty much surrounded by water doesn't exactly help with trying to stay warm. In fact, I never did feel very cold. It's just no fun for me to be out there in these conditions, since I am a rider who does it to enjoy the heat and sunshine of summer.

Still, I was proud of the fact that I got it done. I rode in every month of the year, no easy task for a cold-weather weenie who lives in the snowy north!
