Florida Fine
Greetings.
Back from a vacation on Sanibel Island, our annual trek for shelling, eating, and of course riding cruiser bikes on the bike trails.
So I did two rides with my wife Sandy, both on hot 90-degree, sunshine-filled days. The issue was a strong easterly wind that made both rides a little tougher with those rusty-chained bikes provided by the resort.
Sandy did great.
She rides a bike once a year and it is here in Sanibel. Only once a year yet she does fine here, even into the stiff wind at times.
RIDE ONE
We rode over to Ding Darling National Wildlife Preserve and took that entire drive through the park. Then we rode back to the resort. It's about a 10-mile ride total.
RIDE TWO
We rode from the west end of the island to the east end where the lighthouse is located. There we locked up the bikes and took a stroll along the beach.
On the ride back we stopped for lunch at Gramma Dots at the Sanibel Yacht Club...and what a lunch it was!
Fresh grouper and salmon made for the perfect island fuel for the ride back to the west end of Sanibel.
Back to reality now. But even on vacation, bike riding was a part of the fun!
