Earth Day Eve
Tomorrow is Earth Day, so in a way this little ride in the crazy wind today made even more sense because I rode out to Conservancy Park today.
It was rather odd to see the little path around the pond so open and bare. In the summer when the plants are in full bloom, they slap you as so sneak through a narrow tunnel. It makes me think that it is like when fans line a great climb at the Tour de France and the riders barely get through.
Tons of wind today. At 20-25 mph when it was in my face it practically stood me up, me and my weak not-much-riding legs these days.
Still, it was nice to get out without having four layers of clothing on Despite the wind, at almost 60 degrees the sunshine made it feel very nice.
But I was tired of fighting wind and tired in general early in this ride, so I pulled off early with nothing to prove today. It was just fine...just enough for today. I am hearing that Saturday is going to be the warmest day around here since last October, getting into the 70's. IF it stays dry, I would like to take advantage of that, once my chores are done for the day.
We'll see.
