And so it begins....

Well, hello there my old friend. I got back on the trainer today believe it or not. And if not, then here is picture proof that I remembered how to pull on bibs and snap on shoes...

It has been a long time since butt has been placed onto saddle, and it felt like it today. I am in day number five of a head cold that started up on Christmas Day night. I have now given it to my wife, who is suffering more than I was earlier this week.

So long 2021. Not gonna miss ya!

I wanted to get a good sweat and move around a bit today. For cryin' out loud I have done nothing but eat, sleep and work for a few months now.

I am not sure about the truth of it, but I have always sort of believed that perhaps a good sweat will chase those cold germs away and leave you feeling a little better.

I guess I am glad I did it. As long as was on the thing I decided to crank out a full 45-minute "Carmichael" workout. By the last 10 minutes I was feeling it, with tired legs and labored breathing. I am not sure how much trainer riding I will be getting in this winter. My schedule now is such that when I get home from work I am really gassed. It is going to take a lot of effort to ride for any amount of time.

Doing morning-drive radio really zaps your lifestyle. It's fun while you are doing it, but you go to bed at 8:30 and get up at 3:15 in the morning. By the time you get home from work in the middle of the morning you have been at it a long time. I know people ride after work in traditional-hours jobs, but I was never a fan of that either.

We'll see where 2022 takes me in terms of any bike riding, but I will continue to post stories about it here at this blog.

Happy New Year!
