An "11"
I did another Carmichael today as the temp outside my window slowly climbed from -11 to +1 with piles of snow on the frozen ground.
A warm bike ride outside seems so very far away right now.
Anyway, when I finished today's mph Carmichael workout I was surprised to see I had done 11 miles. It's usually about 10.6 for this workout.
I DID throw in that extra rotation of a medium-hard-medium effort at the :35-minute mark, just to keep my attention. It trims the 10-minute cool down section of a Carmichael from 10 minutes to 5 minutes. Much better use of my time.
Point is, there will be fluctuations in even the exact same workouts. Some days you are just getting by with dead legs. Some days you have a little something extra and feel solid during the ride. Today was one of those days I guess. No complaints. Just chugging along trying to burn winter hibernation calories and get my legs into shape for when that magical time comes that I can once again be out on the road riding.
