Like a Turtle

So it was very ironic that I saw THIS guy on the path at the little park I use as a lap turning point in my Lake Loop route.

He was a biggie.

Slow as a turtle, the same way I rode today.

Yup, a whopping 7.4 mph average speed.

But there was a good reason as to why I only rode a 9.3 mile total today.

Take a look at this picture taken during a wonderful little water break at a park bench in the shade along the path.

That's right.

TWO bikes there.

That's Sandy's Bianchi bike.

I convinced her to take a little ride with me today in the middle of a great-weather afternoon.

Boy it sure was fun to take her along and show her some sights from one of my routes. She enjoyed it too.

Horses. White pelicans. Wild flowers.

It was really different riding that slowly and chatting at times.

On the way back we stopped to look at a yard that was landscaped with all sorts of flowers she was interested in.

It was really nice quaity time together on bikes.
