"Boat"

This is a picture from my Lake Loop route. I had to stop after my second lap to let you in on this one.

Take a close look and you'll realize at least they got the name right.

Another beautiful day, but only a short ride in today. I set a time limit and that was all I could do. Life's other duties have been calling lately, including a very sick dog on a slow mend.

I've also been spending a lot of time helping out my newly-retired wife working in the perennial gardens at our home.

So today it was just a few laps, 17 miles to make sure the new tube was all set in that rear tire. The bike feels good. Me? I'd give me an 'OK' I guess.

Amazingly, there is still a little bit of a weakness twitch at times under my left kneecap from a silly little pop I experienced about a month ago. Confusing. Not enough to stop me from riding , but enough to know something is going on while riding.

So the heat and humidity return this weekend, with Saturday looking like the pick day.

If that 'life duty' thing doesn't beckon I think I will be out to attempt a longer ride.

I picked up a few Hammer Gel packets while I was getting that flat fixed, so I'm set for a little pop of energy in the heat if needed.

Hey...also notable today....

This ride finally puts me over a thousand miles in on the road this season.
