Did Dundas
When you see a picture of the miniature water tower you know what route I was on today.
I done Dundas.
This is a neat and tidy 30-mile ride that has me into the countryside within the first five miles of the ride.
Then much of the ride is just me and farms, and I like it that way.
It was very quiet today, a day with a brilliant blue sky dotted by white puffy clouds. You see what I mean in the picture there. It felt good to be back on the bike after spending some expanded time helping Sandy with our perennial gardens, including putting in a new extension of her garden path.
The good news here is that I can hop on a bike and do 30 miles without it being a big deal.
The bad news here is that the 30 miles seems to be my plateau thus far this summer in terms of length of rides.
By the last few miles my legs are getting tired and I tire in general of riding at this point.
I feel like I need to push through my 30-mile comfort zone and put in something that starts with 'four' in the near future, just to say I did it.
Boy, I can not even begin to imagine having to do this ride today twice (and then add two miles) to ride my age on my birthday at the end of August.
But who knows? Maybe I try it this year? Maybe that's a goal to work toward by doing at least a couple of 40 milers between now and then.
