Airport Path
On Sunday I did something I have not done in months.
I got in my car and traveled out to visit someone else's home. Then on the way back to my home, my wife said as we drove along highway CB, "Look at that nice bike trail."
Indeed. It was a nice looking trail that went out to the Appleton airport. Today I ended up there too, but it was not planned.
I wanted to head west once again, forgetting that the road I take to get out of town is all torn up and you can't get through. So I circled back and saw CB, remembering that was the road where the nice looking trail was that I saw on Sunday.
So I took it.
While driving it seems like a lot bigger deal, but as the bike rolls it is only seven miles from my house to the airport as it turns out.
Trouble is the path sort of just ends at what appeared to be CB and Wisconsin Ave., neither one being a safe option I want to take. So I turned around and headed back the same way I had come out on that bike path (which no one else was on by the way).
That's when a comical series of errors occurred as I took some twists and turns on paths and roads that left me somewhat lost at times. Didn't matter. I was just out on a slow roll soaking up sunshine today. I knew eventually I'd get to some place I recognized and get home, and that is exactly how it happened.
That little tweak in my left knee from the other day while riding in those showers has not gone 100% away. I could feel it barking at me today unfortunately. Stuff just doesn't heal as fast as it used to, not even the little stuff.
