Odd Weather/Got Wet
Despite the ragged way yesterday's heated High Cliff climb left me...
Despite figuring today should have been a recovery day with no riding in the heat once again...
Well, at the last minute I got bored and decided to take a little spin. The weather--HOT and HUMID, the heat wave and 90-degree days continue. But there were some clouds today too at times.
As I rolled my bike out I could now hear thunder rumbling in the distance. "So what," I told myself. This is why I have my neighborhood crit course. Just do laps and stay close to home so you can pull off the course and quit if a storm hits.
By lap #3 raindrops starting hitting me. That soon turned to a little shower, the first rain I have ridden in in some time now. It didn't last long, and to be honest, it felt rather cooling and good to me.
By lap #7 the sun was trying to come out again.
I did tweak something under my left kneecap while going up the little climb out of the saddle mid-ride. Not sure what happened there, but it hung around for the entire ride. I had to ease up a bit to finish my laps.
I probably should have just rested today, but these hot days are too tempting to waste without a ride.
And oh, look at that...as I write this now the sun is full out! Oh well.
