Today's Memorial Day Weekend Sunday ride should be remembered for one thing mainly, and that's the fact that at 76 degrees with sunshine, this was the warmest ride of the season. In fact, it was the first time I didn't feel a little cool at any point in the short 20-mile ride.

I waited until late in the afternoon and then at the last minute decided to get a little exercise. Until I rolled out, the sun couldn't make up it's mind as to whether it was going to grace us with it's presence or not.

After I did one lap of my Lake Loop route, I came back to the hood to do a few laps on the old Neighborhood Crit course.

And while the "Road Work" sign was still up, I rode down to my usual turning point to make sure it was still torn up like the last time I was there.

Nope.

Beautiful fresh, new asphalt had been laid down....smooth like a baby's bottom. Boy if only all roads could be that nice.

Weather will determine if I ride on Memorial Day. There IS that 30-ish mile group ride out of Cranked Bike Studio, but that leaves early...at nine...and I would have to ride over there. We'll see. Like I said, a lot will depend on weather.
