Power of the Sun
Weather-wise, this was one of those days when I would never have even gone out for a ride had the sun not been out.
It was too chilly, with that cold wind once again blowing off the lake. Not a lot of wind, but enough to chill your toes by the end of the ride.
The only reason I went out was because at least the sun made you feel better about things.
But the temp was only 44 with a wind chill of 40 degrees, not exactly the stuff inspirational rides are made of. Still, I DID have another motivation as well...to ride off some of the calories from the giant takeout burrito I ate last night for dinner!
In spite of feeling cold at times, it was a good ride today, with a little reserve power in my legs when I needed to push through the wind to get to 11 laps and 21 miles on the road.
Lots of people out in the neighborhood today, working in their yards or playing with kids. Social distancing, yes, but at least outside and saying hello to neighbors.
This one puts me over 200 miles for the young season.
