Squeak, Squeak

I out-smarted myself today....for the worse.

I had no intention of getting outside to ride today, but shortly after 1:00 the sun was out and it felt pretty good outside. With a forecast of rain for the next few days, I suddenly thought I could take advantage of conditions and ride.

But I would do a few other things first, allowing it to warm up even more as the afternoon progressed.

The opposite happened.

By the time I was ready to go the sun was long gone, now replaced by nothing but dark clouds. Without the sun it didn't feel as warm out either. 45 degrees with a wind chill of 40. Plus, I don't know what I was thinking but I went out without putting on a wind shell over my riding jacket.

The whole thing ended up being a rather dark, dank affair.

So I cut it off at six laps.

Still, in this coronavirus bizarre world we now live in, it felt pretty good to at least get some fresh air into my lungs.

The squeak?

At first I thought it was a bird.

Nope.

It seemed to be coming from my cleats.A loud, squeak, squeak at random times, which I never heard while freewheeling. I'm pretty sure it was my old riding shoes moving around too much in the cleats perhaps.

But that's a new one....and irritating too! Maybe a shot of WD-40 on there before the next ride? Thoughts?
