Daytona 10's

Just what I'll call an easy Sunday spin today to get a little exercise over the weekend. I did a '10's' workout, meaning 10 minutes easy gear, 10 minutes harder gear, 10 minutes back to easy gear, all with a steady tempo rpm.

The only reason I marked the post with a Daytona logo is to use it as a marker on the calendar.

Later today, the Daytona 500 race will be held. I'm a not a fan, but one year I believe it was while watching the race on the trainer, I actually attempted and completed my first (and I believe only) back-to-back double Carmichael ride.

I can't imagine doing that today!

But back whenever, I felt it would be one of those personal challenges that I would attempt, using the race on TV as a bit of a distraction to help pass all that time.

Imagine...finish one 45-minute Carmichael and then the clock simply starts ticking on your second one. Ouch.

Daytona Sunday has always marked a bit of a low point in my personal calendar year. This for me is as bad as it gets. The weather stinks. The snow is dirty. The cold is too persistent and the thought of spring seems far, far away to me now.

I guess the only good news in all that is that I am bottoming out right now, and things, in theory, should only get better, if not slowly, soon.
