Here it is the final day of September and people already have Halloween decorations put out, but the weather felt more like the middle of summer today, with sunshine and 80 degrees.
That's the good news on the weather. The not so good news is that in order for it to be this warm on this date it has to mean some rather serious wind is blowing warm air in from the south.
And by rather serious today I mean 15-20 mph. It was the kind of wind that could upset the front of the bike at times if you hit a gust as a cross wind blast.
You certainly didn't want to spend any extended time riding into this as a head wind. Thus the change-up on my route today. First, I decided to take the rectangle route in reverse order due to the wind. Then I decided to cut it short to avoid the long stretch of what would be headwind coming back.
So I rounded out the miles to hit 25 by doing five laps around the old neighborhood.
No issues today. Only the wind was a negative.
