With my daily rider still in the shop getting a new rear tire, I was forced to take out the old Klein backup bike again.
There was no way I was going to waste a nice hot, sunny mid-afternoon without a ride.
Actually, the Klein is a very comfortable bike. As I have said before, it is like a luxury sedan car. But the one problem I had while riding today was a sore butt. To be specific, the sit bones have to adjust to the Selle Italia saddle on this bike.
Don't get me wrong. This is the best saddle I have ever owned, but it is different from the one I am now used to. Switching over to using a different saddle is no simple chore. They are all very different. This one is more skimpy and more stiff/harder that my usual saddle. Once you break in your butt to it, the thing is great. But it takes time in the saddle.
To just quickly switch over like this, well, that causes some issues. There was no shortage of discomfort toward the end of this ride, and it was only a 20-mile ride!
More steamy weather is ahead and the next two days should be open for rides. I'm up to the challenge, but here's hoping I can pick my bike up before the next ride.
