The Story

With storms in the forecast for the afternoon and clouds in the sky at the departure, I decided to play it safe and keep close to home with some laps on my crit course.

One of the roads is STILL under construction so I have to alter the route a bit, thus the extra lap to a total of eleven laps today.

There WAS a first for this course today as well.

At about the middle of the ride as I had just made my way through one of the right-hander turns I heard a bike bell behind me.

At first I thought I was hearing things, but no, I was right. It was a bike bell, run by a skinny little hipster-looking guy with a backpack on, looking like one of those delivery riders in New York City. He flew right past me on the left from out of nowhere. Surprising.

Other than that there were very few surprises, other than what I thought was a lack of people I saw during the ride. Maybe it's already too hot for folks. Not me. This is just getting good now in terms of weather.
