The Story

To be honest, I'm not really sure why I post the stats of every ride I do here, because not every ride is about stats.

Heck, not every ride is some sort of adventure for that matter either. Habit I guess.

Like today. I titled this post as I did because sometimes being on a bike, no matter how short the ride or how dull it might have been, is my form of exercise and nothing more than that. As much as I am a storyteller, sometimes there just isn't a story to tell.

Some people might have a treadmill in a spare bedroom or a stair-stepper machine in a place they call their workout room Some people may take a brisk walk or do some sit-ups for a little exercise.

Me?

I hop on my bike.

One of the advantages of just doing laps around neighborhood is the fact that I can pull off the course and be done with the ride rather quickly at any point I want.

Weather dictated that today.

While there was some sunshine overhead, off in the distance the sky grew dark and was approaching. As I turned casual laps I knew I could pull off at any minute to avoid getting caught in any storm.

I called it after seven laps on this short course, where I usually do 10 laps. As it turns out, those dark clouds sort of blew over and brought no rain. Not yet anyway.

Just my exercise, and 14 more miles onto the season total. They all count!
