The Story
The story is achy tired legs today.
And I guess there's a good reason why.
Less than 24 hours ago I was putting in almost 30 miles with no practice in my legs after vacation.
Today has been a series of rush jobs prior to this ride. It feels exceptionally good to be writing this from the comfort of my rocking chair in our three-season room, flooded with sunshine while I gulp a cold lemonade.
--After I did my show today I hit up our gardens, feeding the roses and perennials, which includes digging around all the plants in the beds.
--I watered everything
--I cut the lawn
--I swept out the garage
--I did some errands
--I ate some lunch
...and THEN I finally got to the bike ride at 2:00 in the afternoon. (A car wash and wax followed the ride, so I'm done for the day)
That pretty much explains why by lap #7 my legs were already barking and it seemed there was very little left in the tank.
I was glad when this one was over.
