The Story
Back from our annual vacation to Sanibel Island, I can now add the most unique 10 miles of my riding season to the total miles for the year.
Lets put it this way....
I'm never going to see THIS while riding in Wisconsin.
Yup....a biggie too! This guy was 10-12' long and probably protecting the two smaller ones we also saw while riding on a path along the Sanibel River.
And when I say we I mean I was riding with my wife Sandy, who gets on a bike once a year. She only rides one-speed beach cruisers on Sanibel! Smart lady.
We did 10 miles on various paths from the west end of the island to the east end, where the old lighthouse still stands guard.
I was thrilled to learn that the place we stay at every year changed it's policy regarding bikes.
FREE use if available to those staying there.
This gave us the freedom of using bikes whenever we wanted, and we used them for adventures on two days of the eight we were on the island.
Back to reality now, and the hard work of food detox and trying to work off some of the mega calories I put down while there.
