The Story

On this the warmest day of the season thus far, there was no way I was going to miss riding at least a little bit despite my still-tender right hamstring.

So I went out and just took it easy in the neighborhood, not wanting to put any strain on my leg.

Because of this, I was able to add on a few more laps than my usual 10. I decided to go to 13 complete laps just to prove there was nothing unlucky about that number.

There wasn't.

For the entire ride I never once put myself, as Paul Sherwin would say on TV, in a spot of bother.

The hammy felt tight for the first 8-9 laps, then it settled in and I was fine as long as I didn't push it, especially on the one hill on the course.

The next time I put miles in on a bike it will be a lot hotter than this, because I suspect that could be next week on our annual vacation in Florida where the beach cruisers will once again be rented for several days.
