The Story
Where I live in the Fox Valley we got a lot of rain overnight.
A lot.
Almost two inches fell into Friday morning, but by mid-day the clouds broke and as the sun came out the temps went up.
So off I went to do some laps in my neighborhood, riding with the splash of sump pump water being belched out of pipes from basements all along my route.
Maybe the sun came out for the bridal party I rode by lap after lap. They had an old '53 Chevy tudor parked out front of an historic building and were taking pictures at various times.
But they were never all out by the car where I could have (and would have) stopped to say hello and see if I could have interested them in taking a wedding photo with 'random cycling guy' on their big day!
Flashback Friday ride....
Wearing my old Rainbow Jersey socks today.
RJ, no longer there in Shorewood because my friend, mentor and coach, owner Jerry Pearce, has retired to Florida.
He sent me a text with a picture the other day....from the second highest point in the Sunshine State on his ride that day.
Sounds like he is adjusting to the heat quite well.
I hope to do the same some day.
As for today, I threw in an extra two laps because I could....the weather turned nice, I had the time, and I had good legs all day long.
No problems here today!
