The Story
Even though it certainly does not feel like spring weather, there was proof positive on my return to the road today that it must indeed be spring despite the temperatures having been 10 or more degrees below normal for the past week.
Making lap after lap I rode past the tennis courts in my neighborhood and for the first time I saw that the nets are actually up and in position for the coming season. A good sign no doubt, but it still didn't feel very spring-like when I was riding into a little wind coming right off the lake and into my face today.
There is no position low enough in the drops to hide from the bone-chilling breezes of April in Wisconsin.
Still, I was happy to get a chance to be back on the bike and felt okay on this ride today despite a lengthy time away. I wish it would become a part of my routine, but alas, there is snow in the forecast for this weekend....again.
Some day.
Some day I'm going to move to a state where I can enjoy bike rides year round. Bring on the heat I say!
