The Story

It seems to happen to me each and every cycling season at this time of year.

Once I get my first taste of riding outside on my road bike, you know, that first smell of early spring that never really seems to get here, I struggle to transition back onto the trainer indoors.

My brain wants to move on from being inside in winter to getting back out on the open road once again. Oh that brief taste of wind in my face, all layered up and riding to the sound of melting snow running down the storm sewers is so very sweet. But it's March in Wisconsin. Yesterday afternoon things outside my window looked like a snow globe that had just been violently shaken and turned upside down.

Nope. No riding outside. Back to the trainer.

I did nothing more than an easy spin today, my mind clearly not into the task at hand.
