The Story
Another day, another ride.
This has been a good week for getting on the bike and putting in some saddle time!

I'm going to call today's version of my Carmichael workout a "stiff" Carmichael, and it has nothing to do with describing the condition of my legs. Those felt fine today.
Rather, the use of the word stiff is to describe ramping up the basic Carmichael by doing a couple of things;
a) I began in one gear harder than my usual starting point. Thus all the stages of the 45-minute ride are made just that little bit tougher.
b) Instead of the final 10 minutes being cool down time I take four minutes to do that, then throw in a couple of minutes in a harder gear at the 40:00 mark. Spend 42-45 as your final cool down in your starting easy gear once again.
Evidence of doing a 'stiff' Carmichael as opposed to a regular one showed up today in both a higher average speed and a little more on the distance meter.
