The Story

In an effort to begin to make trainer workouts just a little more interesting, here's a new routine for this season.

I call it my 6's workout.

Now since I know there are at least a few readers who like to try some of the workouts I use on the trainer, let me lay out what this new "6's" routine is all about.

You simply ride for six minutes in each gear.

0-6 minutes in your easiest starting gear, which ever one you chose to begin in.

From 6-12 min. in the next hardest gear

From 12-18 min. in the next hardest gear

From 18-24 min. in the next hardest gear

From 24-30 min. downshift to the next easier gear

From 30-36 min. ride in the next easiest gear

36 minutes total in six-minute segments in the corresponding gear.

"6's"

Simple.

And just enough to give you a range of effort and break up your time on the trainer a little bit.
