The Story

I wasn't sure which route I would take as I rolled out, but I had the North Loop in mind. But after crossing over the water on the way out I was unable to get over to make the left turn I needed to make to get out of the city, so the plan changed....sort of.

As it turned out, I still did most of my North Loop route, but in the reverse direction from the way I would normally take.

On the way out everything was so easy. A steady tailwind will do that for you. I knew I'd work much harder coming back into the wind, but for now I would just take it easy and enjoy the views on this wonderful weather day.

Some may call today's weather the ideal weather to ride in.

Me?

Close.

I'd take a little less wind and little more heat and humidity before I'd call it perfect. But I am not complaining!

In fact, since the first portion of the ride was so easy, rather than continue back home on the reverse North Loop route, I veered off and took the second half of my GTF Loop in reverse direction from the normal way I take that.

So I guess if you reverse it I did half a FTG Loop and most of a reverse North Loop combined.

This all ended up meaning a nice long 35-mile effort on the bike.

There it is,

"The View" that I have talked about before.

Climb the hill and the view is your reward.

Going in reverse direction today gave me the perfect chance to pull over and take this picture to share with you.

The picture doesn't do the view justice, but you get the idea.

Some days things just fall into place and you feel fine on the bike. Today was that day.

Before she left for work this morning my wife said, "How about making tacos for dinner tonight?"

Um, yeah, I'm in....and now I feel I've earned a couple...or three...or four...let's be honest.

The right hot

83 degrees and sunshine. Hot? Sure. But not humid. It was just the right kind of hot, and nothing compared to the 100+ degrees at today's...
