The Story

So first of all, I have no idea WHY my entire web site had to be changed, but when I signed in to post up this ride it forced me to do so.

Anyway, after a long break from riding due to both being out of town and a stretch of ugly, damp, cold weather, I finally got a few laps in today.

This time I was actually able to wear my new riding gloves for the first time.

Felt good too.

Anyway, I realized today that this entire

season has been injury/physical issues clear for the entire year. That's pretty good for me. The bad news is the reason I thought of this fact while riding today.

I was experiencing some pain in my left knee out of nowhere. It bothered me in the first few laps, got better, then lurked toward the end of the 22 miles.

I believe there is a fine line when it comes to preventing nagging injuries. That fine line is somewhere in between too much and too little riding.

Too much without rest and recovery and you're asking for trouble.

Too little and you lose form and your body can be stretched to its limits too soon.

All I know is today felt like the ride of a guy who hasn't been on his bike in too long.

Every lap I had to ride through a puddle, getting me and my bike all wet. I'm not sure where the water was coming from, but it wasn't Mother Nature. No rain here, unlike those poor people in Florida with Hurricane Irma to deal with.
